The Spartan Baseball Program was honored on Friday to have Richard Garland, Director of Smyrna Parks & Recreation, and Tommy Korver, Superintendent of Fields for Smyrna Parks & Recreation (pictured with Spartan Head Coach, Jeff Searcy) throw out the first pitch of the game with the Hiram Hornets. The Spartan Baseball Program is grateful for the great relationship we have with Smyrna Parks & Recreation and incredibly thankful for their efforts in ensuring we have a first class field and facility. In fact, our field is the work of Mr. Korver as he has overseen the field renovations and personally completed many of the projects himself. He also personally handles the care of the playing surface that we believe, and many will agree, is the nicest in Cobb County, if not metro Atlanta.
