Two Pitchers Work Together To Earn Victory For Spartans JV Against Sprayberry In No-Hitter

Gillen Joachim induced a groundout from Tyler Stevenson to get the last out of the game, as two pitchers teamed up to a throw a no-hitter in Spartans JV’s 10-0 defeat of Sprayberry on Wednesday.

The Spartans JV opened up scoring in the first inning. Corian Davis grounded out, scoring one run.

Spartans notched five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by John Anagnostis and BJ Banks, a sacrifice fly by Brendon Kraus, and a double by Tristen Jensen.

Jensen was the winning pitcher for the Spartan JV squad. He lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one. Joachim threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Spartans JV totaled ten hits in the game. Anagnostis and Christian Griffin each collected multiple hits for Campbell Spartans JV. Griffin and Anagnostis each collected two hits to lead the Spartans JV at the plate.

Spartans JV didn’t commit a single error in the field. Rambo Fultz had the most chances in the field with eight. Spartans JV stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. George Jackson led the way with two.

Spartan JV takes on Hiram on Thursday at The Spartan Baseball Complex and Historic Lattanzi Field.
