DeHart Strong At The Plate As The Spartans JV Defeats Hiram 11-4

Garrett DeHart was in the zone on Saturday, tallying four hits and leading Campbell Spartans JV to a 11-4 win over Hiram. DeHart singled in the third, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

Hiram opened up an early lead in the first inning. After the Spartans JV scored one run in the top of the 2nd, Hiram answered with one of their own.

The Spartans scored when Corian Davis doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Hiram then answered when Nick Reyes singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Campbell Spartans JV took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Rambo Fultz singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Tristen Jensen singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, and John Anagnostis drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Spartans scored five runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by singles by Fultz and Duncan Santos, by Davis, and a double by Christian Griffin.

Chase Lavalley led things off on the hill for the Spartans. He allowed five hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out two.

Campbell Spartans JV collected 13 hits. DeHart, Jensen, Fultz, Santos, and Griffin each had multiple hits for the Spartans. DeHart went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Campbell Spartans JV in hits. Davis led the Spartans with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
