On a frigid cold night in Coweta County, a walk-off left Spartan Baseball on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to East Coweta on Tuesday.

The game was tied at one with East Coweta batting in the bottom of the eighth when Caleb Cashion singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. East Coweta pitchers struck out nine, while Spartan pitching sat down ten.

The Spartans got things moving in the first inning. Michael Braswell singled on a 3-2 count, scoring Aidan Daly who led off the inning with an 11 pitch at bat that resulted in a walk.
East Coweta evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Despite a great outing by the freshman, Tristen Jensen took the loss. He surrendered only one run on two hits over two and a third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Michael Braswell started the game for the good guys allowing six hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven.

Andrew Whitcher, Braswell, and Michael Herrmann all had one hit to lead the Spartans at the plate.

The Spartans take on East Coweta again on Friday at the Spartan Baseball Complex.
