Spartans JV Clings To Victory As McEachern Nearly Erases 5-Run Deficit

Despite seeing its five-run lead whittled down by the end, Campbell Spartans JV still held off McEachern for a 7-5 victory on Thursday.

The Spartans got on the board in the first inning. Corian Davis’s sac fly scored George JAckson who reached on a lead off walk.

The good guys scored four runs in the third inning and was led by Tristen Jensen, Brendon Kraus, and John Anagnostis, all driving in runs in the frame.

Christian Griffin took the win for the Spartans. He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three and walking zero. Kraus, Gillen Joachim, and Garrett DeHart all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Joachim recorded the last two outs to earn the save.

Anagnostis led the Spartans at the plate with three hits in three at bats. The Royal and Silver tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Anagnostis Kraus led the way with two each.
