The Spartans defeated Pebblebrook 5-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

The game was blown wide open when Junior Hassan Goggins cleared the bases when he tripled a 3-2, 2 out fast ball into the right field gap and then scored on the throw to third.

Goggins, the Spartan Right Fielder, also had rally stopping a put out assist in the 7th inning when he scooped up a hit to right and threw a perfect one hop laser to George Lester at third who then applied the tag.

The game ended on another stellar defensive play when a double to the left center gap was snatched up by Junior Left Fielder Andrew Whitcher, relayed to Freshman Short Stop Garrett DeHart, who then threw a dart to Junior Catcher Dominic Rutigliano. The Spartan Catcher hung in and applied the tag to preserve the shut out.
