The Spartan JV has an impressive Saturday as it defeats Mays and Maynard Jackson in a Doubleheader at Westlake High

In doubleheader on Saturday at Westlake High School, the Spartan JV caps off an impressive season with back to wins over Mays and Maynard Jackson.

The Royal and Silver ran off with the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over Mays. The Spartans JV trailed 7-2 headed into the top of the sixth inning when the offense kicked it in.

Fueled by a triple by Junior Aidan Daly, a double by Junior Xavier Williams, and singles by Junior George Lester, Freshman Rambo Fultz, and miscues by the Mays defense, the Good Guys ended the 6th inning up 9-7.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Campbell Spartans JV collected five hits and Mays six in the affair. The Spartans got on the board in the first inning when Sophomore Pitcher Corian Davis grounded out, scoring Daly who singled to lead off the game. Daly went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Campbell in hits.

In game 2, the Spartans jumped out to an early lead over Maynard Jackson and took home an 11-4 victory.

The Royal and Silver started strong scoring to six runs in the first inning. Sophomore Brendan Kraus, Freshman Duncan Santos, Freshman Jacob Grantham, and Junior Aidan Daly powered the big inning with RBIs.

Freshman Pitcher Ethan Fuller earned the win for Campbell. He went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits and walking one.

Freshman Gillen Joachim and Junior Xavier Williams entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Freshman Chase Lavalley, Grantham, Daly, Williams, Santos, Freshman Rambo Fultz, and Sophomore Corian Davis each tallied one hit to lead the Spartans offense.
