Two Pitchers Combine In Shutout Victory Against Pebblebrook on Friday at the Spartan Baseball Complex

Spartan Baseball defeated Pebblebrook 10-0 on Friday as two pitchers, Freshman Tristan Jensen and Sophomore Michael Herrmann, combined to throw a shutout.

The Silver and Royal got the offense started in the first inning when Sophomore Shortstop Michael Braswell’s sac fly scored Junior Left Fielder Andrew Whitcher who had doubled to left to lead off the inning.

The Spartans scored one in the second, 4 in the fourth, and four in the fifth inning. The Royal and Silver’s big inning was driven by singles by Sophomore Brendan Kraus and Junior Third Basemen Ethan Mack.

Jensen was credited with the victory. He allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Herrmann threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Junior Left Fielder Andrew Whitcher, Jensen, Freshman Second Baseman Garrett DeHart, Braswell, Herrmann, Mack, and Kraus each collected one hit to lead the Spartan offense.

The Spartans wrap up their regular season this week with home match ups again region foes Westlake and Wheeler on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, and against Marietta and South Cobb in a Saturday Doubleheader.
