27 Oct 2019 by Coach Searcy

Monday 10/28:
Lettermen 4:00-6:00: 4on1 Cage Sessions. Field work dependent on field condition.

Tuesday 10/29: Weather permitting: Lettermen Pitchers & Catchers bullpens, 4on1 Cage Sessions & Field work dependent on field condition.

If weather does not allow workouts on Tuesday, Seniors are asked to (Class of ‘20) meet in room 101 at 3:45 for a discussion and work session related to collegiate baseball opportunities after graduation. The coaches and I have been in touch with college programs around the state and southeast and want to get you connceted.

Wednesday 10/30: No Workouts

Thursday 10/31: No workouts.

We will hit it hard, as weather permits, Monday’s thru Thursdays from November 4th until Thanksgiving Break. The 2020 season is quickly approaching. And, it’s going to be a great year!!

Additional Notes:

To all those who have expressed interest in trying out for the 2020 season:
- if you have not stopped by room 101 to complete an informational form, please do so this week.
-if you have not completed the CCSD Athletic App and associated paperwork online in Parent Vue as well as uploaded a current & completed physical, that must be done prior to any type of participation in baseball related activities.
- for those who have expressed interest but have yet to participate in 4on1 sessions and open cage workouts, know these 4on1 cage workouts and field sessions are designed to create opportunities to get in work and become a bit more familiar with the program as well as the expectations prior to tryouts in January. Increased exposure opportunities are always a benefit as no one is guaranteed to make the team.

Note to all:

Competition for roster spots as well as starting roles and playing time will be significant across the board this coming season and from now on. There are no guarantees anywhere on this team. Competition is essential to making good teams great and great teams better.

The Fall 4on1’s have revealed many things with the most encouraging being incoming talent as well as some returning dedication, and effort that will bring serious competition come January, February and throughout the season. This is a great thing and absolutely necessary in the building of a championship program.

The coaches and I are very much looking forward to the 2020 season and to the future of Spartan Baseball!!

Have a great rest of your weekend.
