The Spartans defeat Pebblebrook 11-1 on Tuesday

The Spartans defeated Pebblebrook 11-1 on Tuesday thanks to six runs in the fifth inning.
The Royal & Silver fired up the offense in the first inning, when Freshman, Alex Karst, drew a walk, scoring Sophomore, Garrett Dehart, who had singled earlier in the inning. The scoring continued in the 2nd when Sophomore¸ Tristan Jensen, doubled and then later scored on a fielder’s choice by Junior, Aidan Daly. Dehart also scored on a passed ball by the Falcons’ catcher.
In the 3rd inning, Seniors, Ethan Mack and Andrew Whitcher walked and later scored on a wild pitch and single by Jensen, respectively. The Spartans tallied six runs in the fifth inning on doubles by DeHart and Whitcher, a walk by Senior, Dominic Rutigliano, a single by Daly, and hard hits balls by Mack and Senior, Hassan Goggins.
Tristan Jensen was the winning pitcher for the Silver & Royal, going four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out three and walking one. Freshman, Alex Karst threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
The Spartan offense totaled nine hits. DeHart and Jensen had multiple hits for Spartans (Varsity). DeHart led the attack going 3 for 4. The Good Guys also tore up the base paths stealing 14 bases during the game as five players stole more than one. DeHart led the way with four.
The Spartan Varsity will take on Pebblebrook at Pebblebrook on Friday, March 13. First pitch at 5:55.
